Following the ongoing 2024 policy meeting with stakeholders, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a significant update regarding the age eligibility criteria for admissions into tertiary institutions. For the 2024 academic year, candidates who are 16 years old will be considered for admission, the board said.
However, starting from the next academic year, the minimum age requirement will be raised to 18 years. This means that only candidates who are at least 18 years old will be eligible for admission into tertiary institutions from the 2025 academic year onwards.
