…Announces National Youth Conference to Empower Young People

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed Nigerians in a national broadcast to commemorate the country’s 64th Independence Anniversary. He acknowledged the struggles citizens face, particularly rising living costs and unemployment, and assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to finding sustainable solutions.
Tinubu reflected on Nigeria’s progress since independence, highlighting the country’s resilience and achievements in various fields. He noted that despite challenges, Nigeria remains a strong, united, and viable sovereign nation.
On security, Tinubu announced that his administration is winning the war against terror and banditry, with over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders eliminated. He promised to restore peace to troubled areas, enabling farmers to return to their farms and increase food production.
The president also discussed economic reforms, citing a $30 billion foreign direct investment inflow and efforts to stabilize the foreign exchange market. He mentioned initiatives to reduce the cost of living, promote mechanized farming, and expand natural gas adoption for mass transit.
To foster national unity and youth development, Tinubu announced a National Youth Conference to address challenges and empower young people. Other youth-centric programs include the 3 Million Technical Talents program and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.
Concluding his address, Tinubu urged Nigerians to believe in the country’s promise and work together towards a brighter future.
