Degree sandwich students of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), a KWASU-affiliated program, took to the streets today to protest the unexpected change of their exam venue from the college premises to the KWASU Conference Centre in Sango.
The sudden shift, announced at short notice, left many students stranded and concerned about logistics and accessibility.
“We were caught off guard,” said Usman Saheed, a 300L Arabic student. “The new venue is far, and transportation arrangements were not made. We demand a reversal to the original plan.”

CAILS Provost, Dr. Saad Adi condemned the decision, stating that KWASU management acted unilaterally without consulting the college.
“This program is collaborative; every decision should be taken jointly,” Dr. Adi told InsiderNg. “We were shocked that information wasn’t properly communicated through appropriate channels. KWASU management assembled students without our knowledge, just days before exams. This is unacceptable.”
Dr. Adi appealed for calm, assuring students that efforts are underway to resolve the issue amicably.
Contacted for comment, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of KWASU, Dr Mrs Aliyu declined to speak on the matter, citing lack of adequate briefing. She pledged to follow up with our reporter, but had not done so at the time of filing this report.
