Nigerian music sensation, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has made history on Spotify Nigeria, breaking the record for the biggest streaming day on the platform. His latest single, “Piece of My Heart,” featuring American R&B star Brent Faiyaz, has become the first song to surpass the 1 million stream mark in a single day.
According to Spotify’s official charts, “Piece of My Heart” racked up an impressive 1.016 million streams on Spotify Nigeria, catapulting Wizkid to the top of the charts. This milestone propelled Nigeria to become the 22nd country to achieve over 1 million streams on its Spotify Chart in a 24-hour period.
On the Global Spotify Chart, “Piece of My Heart” debuted at number 90 with 1.7 million streams. The song amassed a staggering 2.27 million streams globally on its first day of release, securing the largest streaming debut for any African artist in Spotify history.
Wizkid’s achievement solidifies his position as one of Africa’s most influential and successful artists. “Piece of My Heart” is poised to dominate music charts worldwide, further cementing Wizkid’s status as a global music icon.
