The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned the recent decision by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to erect walls against major business areas in Ilorin, including Challenge, Unity, and Post Office. The party views this action as economic sabotage and an attempt to stifle the livelihoods of poor masses and young entrepreneurs.
The PDP has sympathized with affected business owners and protesters, promising to prioritize the removal of these walls if elected in 2027. The party criticized the governor’s lack of empathy and consideration for the devastating impact on business owners, their families, and the local economy.
The Kwara PDP has also called on security agencies to ensure the safety and rights of protesting youth entrepreneurs and to advise the governor that this action could escalate violence and criminal activities in Ilorin.
The party has urged protesters to remain peaceful and assured Kwarans that a PDP-led government would reverse this policy and dismantle structures suppressing economic growth in 2027.
