A groundbreaking initiative funded by the Saudi Arabian government, named the Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home (ASPH), is set to launch in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, on Monday, February 17, 2025. The program aims to provide comprehensive support to 950 orphaned and vulnerable children in the state.
The launch event will be held at the State Banquet Hall, located opposite the Government House in Ilorin, starting at 10:00 AM.
According to a statement by Alhaji Abdulrazaq Ibrahim Salman, President of the Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home, the initiative is a transformative project designed to deliver critical care and long-term support to orphans and vulnerable children. The program will focus on a holistic approach to child empowerment, offering stable housing, daily supervision, educational support, healthcare, nutritional assistance, and psychosocial services.
Alhaji Salman urged all accredited orphanage homes in Kwara State to partner with ASPH to ensure the effective delivery of these services. He emphasized that participating orphanages must be fully accredited by the state’s Ministry of Social Development to maintain the highest standards of care and transparency.
The initiative will be closely monitored through monthly and quarterly reviews in collaboration with government agencies to ensure efficient and accountable service delivery. Alhaji Salman highlighted that ASPH’s full funding ensures that resources and support are readily available to create an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
