In continuation of his annual Ramadan welfare program, former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has begun distributing food packages to traditional leaders, Imams, Islamic scholars, party members, associations, and various youth and women groups across Kwara State.
The initiative, aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and fostering the spirit of generosity during the holy month, was announced by his Press Officer on Home Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir. Abdulqadir said the program underscores Dr. Saraki’s commitment to uplifting underprivileged individuals and promoting the values of compassion and solidarity that define Ramadan.
In his Ramadan message, Dr. Saraki, who holds the traditional title of Waziri Ngeri of the Ilorin Emirate, highlighted the deeper essence of Ramadan beyond fasting. He called on Muslims to embody kindness, generosity, and love, emphasizing that true devotion is demonstrated through acts of charity and support for those in need.
He urged the faithful to use the sacred month to deepen their spiritual connection with Allah (SWT) through prayer and supplication, while also fostering patience, humility, and unity within society. Dr. Saraki also prayed for divine blessings upon all Muslims observing Ramadan and called for peace, prosperity, and a more inclusive and just society in Nigeria.
