AbdulRazaq Commended for Naming Court House After Late Justice Kawu

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has praised Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for recognizing and honouring the state’s distinguished heroes.

Specifically, the Union applauded the Governor’s decision to name a new court house in Ilorin after the late Honourable Justice Saidu Kawu, a pioneer Chief Judge of Kwara State and Madawaki of Ilorin.

Justice Kawu was renowned for his thoughtful and composed demeanor during court proceedings. IEDPU’s National President, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, expressed gratitude to the Governor for acknowledging Justice Kawu’s significant contributions to the state.

The community leader highlighted Justice Kawu’s exceptional role in developing Kwara State’s judiciary, noting his instrumental work in laying the foundation for the state’s legal system. As the first indigene to serve as a Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Kawu’s legacy is truly deserving of the honour.

Alhaji Abdulmalik hopes that the Governor’s gesture will inspire citizens to emulate the patriotism demonstrated by Justice Kawu and other notable figures from Kwara State. He concluded by wishing Governor AbdulRazaq a peaceful and successful tenure.
