The Postgraduate Students Association (POGSASS) of the University of Ilorin has announced that the forthcoming 2024 edition of its annual Leadership Summit is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2024, at the University’s main auditorium.
This highly anticipated event promises to bring together postgraduate students, academic leaders, and industry experts for a day of insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and capacity-building sessions focused on leadership development and excellence.
The 2024 Leadership Summit, themed ‘Empowering Future Leadership in a Dynamic World’, promises to be a pivotal event. According to Abdullahi Ishaq Toyin, President of the Postgraduate Students Association, the summit aims to convene key stakeholders from various sectors to engage in meaningful discussions and shape a long-term strategic vision for future leaders across all levels of government in Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday in Ilorin, Toyin emphasized the association’s commitment to fostering a collaborative environment that will inspire and equip the next generation of leaders to navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world.
“Our intention, as scholars is to use this one-day event to convene leaders and innovators from across the country in ome place to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in leadership, navigate its complexities, and offer a place for collaboration, learning, and strategic planning for upcoming leaders.”
The Summit will feature a keynote address by Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, setting the tone for a day of insightful discussions and engagements.
The program will include an interactive session, providing attendees with opportunities for Q&A and knowledge sharing. Additionally, the event will witness the launch of the POGSASS journal, a platform for showcasing research and intellectual pursuits.
The summit will also honor distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to leadership and development, among other highlights.
Mallam Mohammed Funsho Abdullahi, Chief of Staff to the Minister of State for Youth Development, is among the distinguished individuals slated for recognition at the summit.
