Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has been named the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Player of the Year. Currently playing for Italian Serie A club Atalanta, Lookman has been in impressive form, showcasing his skills and scoring crucial goals for his team.
Lookman’s remarkable season has been filled with notable achievements. He played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph, earning him the title of Atalanta Player of the Season. His outstanding performances also led to his inclusion in the Europa League Team of the Year.
One of the highlights of his season was his hat-trick against Leverkusen in the Europa League final, a feat that remains fresh in the minds of many football lovers. In addition to his European success, Lookman has consistently delivered impressive results in Serie A, with 18 goals and assists last season, and 16 goals and assists so far this season, combining his performances in both Serie A and the Champions League.
The CAF Player of the Year award is one of the most coveted honours in African football, and Lookman’s win means he will be succeeding another Nigerian talent, Victor Osimhen, who won it last year.
