Engr. Sunday Babalola, through the Kwara Citizenship Development Initiative (KCDI), has launched a compassionate effort to distribute food palliatives to 2,000 households across Kwara State. The initiative, which kicked off on Monday, March 17, 2025, aims to provide relief during the holy months of Ramadan and Lent, with a special focus on supporting vulnerable groups, including Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

The first group of beneficiaries, led by Madam Jibore Joy, a representative of the PWD community, received their share earlier this week. In an emotional address, Madam Joy praised Engr. Babalola’s dedication to inclusivity. “We are deeply grateful for his support,” she said. “His commitment to embracing diversity and promoting equal opportunities for PWDs is a shining example for others to follow.”

The distribution has also brought relief to market men and women, who have faced economic challenges in recent times. Hajia Muyibat Olumo, the Iyaloja General, expressed appreciation on behalf of the traders. “Engr. Babalola has brought us hope and sustenance during these sacred months,” she said. “This timely gesture will not be forgotten.”

Students from the Asalatu and Church communities, represented by the Coordinator of Abiyamo Tooto, also joined in the chorus of gratitude. “We thank the KCDI Founder for his kindness,” the Coordinator remarked. “We pray that the Almighty rewards him abundantly for his generosity.” The group further called on others to emulate Engr. Babalola’s example, noting that such acts of charity could strengthen the community in both good times and bad.

The initiative underscores Engr. Babalola’s ongoing efforts to uplift residents of Kwara State, particularly during periods of spiritual reflection and economic hardship. As the distribution continues, beneficiaries and community leaders alike have hailed the program as a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of collective support.
