Ilorin-born broadcaster Bolaji Aladie has been honoured with the Best Yoruba Language Translator Award at the 20th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters (NITI). This prestigious recognition underscores Aladie’s exceptional skills and proficiency in translating and interpreting English and Yoruba languages.
Aladie, a linguistics graduate from the University of Ilorin, was inducted as a member of NITI during the conference, themed “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Enhanced Translation and Interpretation Practice.” The event brought together top language experts from across Nigeria.
As a seasoned broadcast journalist, strategic communicator, and public relations expert, Aladie has hosted the popular radio show “Pade Mi L’Assembly” and served as a media aide to Senator Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe. He currently heads the Corporate Affairs Unit of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Budo-Egba.
“I’m humbled by this recognition,” Aladie said. “It’s a testament to my passion for language and dedication to bridging communication gaps between English and Yoruba-speaking audiences.”
NITI’s certification and regulation ensure that translation and interpretation services meet Nigeria’s highest standards. Aladie’s induction solidifies his position as a leading language expert in the country.
The conference, held at the National Women Development Centre in Abuja from October 10-11, provided a platform for language professionals to share knowledge, innovations, and best practices.
