Lukman Abiodun Oyedeji, a cameraman for Channels Television in Kwara State, has been elected as the new Internal Auditor of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). Oyedeji secured a landslide victory, garnering 64 votes and defeating his sole opponent, Sarumi Moshood of Herald Newspaper, who received 3 votes in the bye-election held on October 30, 2024.
This development marks a significant milestone for Oyedeji, who will now play a crucial role in ensuring the financial transparency and accountability of the Kwara State Council of NUJ. As Internal Auditor, Oyedeji will be responsible for reviewing the council’s financial records, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing measures to enhance financial management.
