The Kwara State Government has begun expanding Adewole Cottage Hospital in Ilorin to boost primary healthcare in the state. According to Commissioner for Health Dr. Amina Ahmed El-lmam, the hospital is one of several facilities undergoing renovation.
The Commissioner appeals to the public to continue to use the hospital but should know that a section of the facility will not be available for now. While construction is ongoing, male patients cannot be admitted due to roof removal in the male section. Despite this, the hospital remains open for patients, and El-lmam assures quality care from healthcare workers.
Other ongoing projects include renovations at General Hospital Patigi, General Hospital Oro, Cottage Hospital Lade, and plans for Cottage Hospital Tsaragi and Gbale, as well as several hospitals in the South.
“We also have activated plans for renovation works at Cottage Hospital Tsaragi and Gbale. In the South, we have our eyes on General Hospital Offa, General Hospital Erin-Ile, General Hospital Omu Aran, General Hospital Oro-Ago, and a few others.”
