Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Davido thrilled fans in Ethiopia as he headlined the country’s New Year 2017 celebration on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Ethiopia’s unique calendar, which is seven to eight years behind the Gregorian calendar, marked the beginning of 2017.
The energetic performance by Davido delighted the crowd, as he performed his hit songs to a packed audience. The celebration was a significant event in Ethiopia’s calendar, and Davido’s participation added an extra layer of excitement.
Ubi Franklin, Davido’s associate and talent manager, shared highlights from the event on Instagram, posting a video of the festivities. “It’s New Year in Ethiopia; they are in 2017. They just entered 2017,” Franklin remarked, drawing attention to Ethiopia’s distinct calendar.
