The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken decisive action against one of its prominent members, Senator Dino Melaye, suspending him from the party due to alleged anti-party activities. The suspension was announced in a memo issued on Friday by the ward party executive committee in Ayetoro/Iluagba Ward 1, Kogi State.
According to the memo, the decision to suspend Melaye was made after a thorough review of the report submitted by the disciplinary committee tasked with investigating his actions. The committee found that Melaye’s recent behavior was detrimental to the party’s interests and unity, prompting the ward executive committee to take swift action.
The suspension is seen as a strong message from the PDP leadership that it will not tolerate any actions that could compromise the party’s unity and interests. Melaye, a vocal and prominent member of the party, has been a key figure in Kogi State politics.
The suspension has sparked mixed reactions from party members and supporters, with some praising the decision as a necessary step to maintain party discipline, while others have expressed disappointment and surprise at the move.
