The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Monday, September 16th, 2024, will be observed as a public holiday to commemorate the Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration. This declaration was made to enable Muslims across the country to mark the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) with festivities and prayers.
The Minister of Interior, in a statement, congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion and enjoined them to use the celebration to pray for the peace, unity, and prosperity of the nation. The Minister also urged Nigerians to use the public holiday to engage in acts of kindness, generosity, and goodwill towards one another.
