The Kwara State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara, has sworn in two Local Government Election Petition Tribunals to resolve disputes that may arise from the 2024 local government elections. The tribunals, comprising three members each, were constituted in accordance with the Kwara State Local Government Election Law.
Justice Adebara emphasized the importance of the tribunals in ensuring the integrity of the democratic process and resolving election-related disputes. He expressed confidence in the selected members, citing their proven integrity and competence.
The Chief Judge urged the tribunal members to discharge their duties without fear or favor and to ensure speedy resolution of election cases. He also enjoined counsel appearing before the tribunals to maintain excellence and uphold the best traditions of the legal profession.
Responding on behalf of the tribunals, Chief Magistrate Jibril Bio Salihu assured that the panels would work diligently to maintain the integrity of the judiciary and not abuse the confidence placed in them.
