By Edem Christiana

The Federal Polytechnic in Nasarawa State has taken a firm stance against exam malpractices, expelling 100 students caught cheating during the 2023/2024 academic session.

This decision was announced by Acting Rector Dr. Hauwa Muhammad during the institution’s 41st matriculation ceremony, where 15,000 new students were welcomed.

The new students, enrolled in various programs, were warned against exam malpractices and other social vices like drug abuse, indecent dressing, and cultism. Dr. Muhammad emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and urged the students to focus on their studies.

This incident isn’t isolated in Nasarawa State. In 2022, 23 students from the Nasarawa State College of Education were also expelled for exam malpractice. Similarly, 66 students were expelled from the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa for alleged exam malpractice.
