Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has urged Nigerian youth to embrace peace, shun vices, and engage in productive activities that drive them towards their life goals. Speaking at an event to commemorate International Youth Day in Ilorin, the Governor praised Kwara youths for choosing peace over chaos and hope over despair in response to national events.
The event, organized by the State Ministry of Youth Development, featured paper presentations and was attended by a diverse range of youth. Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of education, ethical use of social media, hard work, and positive thinking in achieving greatness.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Nafisat Musa Buge also commended the youth for their response to national events, pledging that his administration will continue to prioritize programs and projects that give them a fair shot at life. The Governor highlighted his government’s commitment to empowering youth and harnessing their potentials to drive sustainable development.
Other speakers, including the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe and representatives from the National Youth Council of Nigeria, emphasized the importance of recognizing the voices and potentials of youth in building a sustainable future. They urged young people to explore vital connections between digital innovation and sustainable development.
