A wave of violence swept through Kaduna and Sokoto states as bandits launched deadly attacks on local communities, leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake.
In Kaduna, bandits stormed a village around 11:15 pm on Sunday, killing five people and abducting several others, including nurses at the Primary Health Care Centre in Layin Dan Auta village. The victims included Garkuwa Alfarma, Buhari Maidiga, Uba Auta, Yakubu Thomas Gaku, and Atabata Naallah.
In a separate attack in the Maro Ward, one person was killed, and six others were kidnapped in the Bakin Pah area.
Locals, including Maigari Ben, are calling on security agencies to step up efforts to protect the communities and ensure the safe return of those abducted.
In Sokoto, bandits also attacked, killing two people and abducting many others. The Sokoto State Police Command has promised to provide further details after confirming the incident with the Divisional Police Office and conducting a thorough investigation.
The attacks have left residents in a state of fear and uncertainty, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent further violence.
