Community leaders and farmers’ associations in Kwara North have praised the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation (ABS Foundation) for its timely interventions in the region’s agricultural sector. The foundation’s distribution of farm inputs, including fertilizers, chemicals, and seedlings, across five Local Government Areas (LGAs) has been hailed as a significant boost to agriculture in the area.
The initiative, which benefited over 986 farmers directly and 2,500 secondary beneficiaries, is expected to enhance agricultural productivity, improve food security, and empower farmers economically. The farm inputs were distributed in Moro, Edu, Patigi, Baruten, and Kaiama LGAs.
In appreciation letters, the CINWON Soko Farmers Association and the Patigi Emirate Development Union (PEDU) thanked the ABS Foundation for the gesture, which they said would help farmers achieve an unprecedented level of agricultural output this year.
Beneficiaries, including Hajia Chatta from Regata Village, Patigi LGA, praised the ABS Foundation for promoting agriculture in the region. “This intervention is a game-changer for us farmers,” Hajia Chatta said. “We are grateful for the support and look forward to a bountiful harvest.”
The North Central Regional Director of ABS Foundation, Mallam Musa Aliyu, expressed happiness that the intervention is already yielding positive results, with beneficiaries providing feedback on the impact of the initiative. “We are committed to supporting farmers in Kwara North and improving agricultural productivity in the region,” Aliyu said.
