The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) has extended the deadline given for various political parties to conduct primaries ahead of September 2024 local government elections in the state.
A press statement e-signed by the commission’s Chairman, Muhammed Baba Okanla, on Wednesday, June 26th, the commission said political parties now have until Thursday, July 4th 2024 to conduct and conclude their primaries.

LG Polls: KWSIEC moves deadline for party primaries to Thursday 4th of July 2024.
In deference to appeals by different political parties for more time for their primaries, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission hereby extends the deadline for the exercise to Thursday, July 4, 2024.
The initial deadline was Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Further adjustments to other activities, if any, will be communicated to the public as may become necessary.
