Kwara Police Sack Three Officers Over Kwara Poly Student’s Death

The Kwara State Police Command has concluded its investigation into the tragic incident involving a Kwara State Polytechnic Student, Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola’s death on September 4, 2024.

After a thorough probe and internal disciplinary trial, three officers – Inspr. Abiodun Kayode, Inspr. James Emmanuel, and Sgt. Oni Philip – were found guilty of leaving their beat, corrupt practices, and unlawful exercise of authority.

Consequently, they have been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, effective October 4, 2024, and will face court charges soon.

Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to justice, professionalism, and accountability. Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, extended condolences to Ishola’s family and friends, assuring them of support during this difficult period.

The Command urged the public to trust the legal process and maintain law and order within Kwara State.
