Kwara Trains 1,800 Primary School Teachers on Modern Teaching Methods

No fewer than 1,800 primary school teachers from across Kwara State are undergoing an intensive ten-day training program on digital literacy and innovative teaching techniques to enhance classroom learning.

The capacity-building workshop, which began on Monday at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School in Ilorin, is organized by KwaraLEARN in collaboration with the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) and the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, urged teachers to embrace the training as a vital step in modernizing education in Kwara. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to transitioning from analog to digital learning systems.

“The purpose of this training is to empower our teachers to meet the challenges of the digital age. Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration is committed to global best practices in education, and this workshop is one of several initiatives aimed at transforming our learning environment,” Dr. Olohungbebe stated.

He praised the dedication of teachers and assured them of continued government support through professional development programs and digital tools to improve teaching efficiency.

The Managing Director of KwaraLEARN, Mrs. Laide Abel, encouraged participants to actively engage in the sessions to maximize the benefits of the training. She expressed optimism that the program would significantly enhance classroom delivery and student performance.
