KWASU Appoints Prof. Moshood Jimba as New DVC Admin

Kwara State University, Malete, has announced the appointment of Professor Moshood Mahmoud Jimba as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration). Professor Jimba, who is currently serving as the Dean of Student Affairs, will assume his new role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, bringing his wealth of experience and expertise to the position.
Professor Jimba was born in Ilorin, Kwara State, in 1963. He began his education at Azhar Institute, Ogidi, Ilorin, in 1975, and later completed his secondary education at the Institute of Foreign Students, Cairo, Egypt. He earned his B.A. in Arabic from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, in 1987, followed by an M.A. in Arabic from the University of Ilorin in 1995, and a Ph.D. in Arabic from the same university in 2006.
Professor Jimba’s academic career spans over three decades, with teaching positions at various institutions, including Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Kogi State University, University of Ilorin, University of Ado-Ekiti, and Nasarawa State University. He joined Kwara State University, Malete, in 2012, and served as Director, Centre for Ilorin Manuscripts and Culture, before being promoted to full Professor in 2016. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, he was the Dean of Student Affairs at Kwara State University.
