Kwara State University (KWASU) has taken prompt disciplinary action against a male student who participated in a skit deemed offensive, suspending his student portal access pending a thorough investigation by the Student Disciplinary Committee.
The university’s management strongly denounced the skit, which depicted the student engaging in inappropriate conduct with female students, stating that it “does not align with the institution’s values” and “is contrary to the ethical standards upheld by the majority of KWASU students”.
According to Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Acting Director of University Relations, KWASU maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline, prioritizing the development of graduates who excel academically and demonstrate strong character.
“The investigation is currently underway, and additional penalties may be imposed if the student is found guilty, emphasizing the university’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of behaviour and academic excellence”.
