The National Youth Organisation (NYO) has praised the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) for conducting peaceful and transparent local government elections across Kwara State’s 16 local government areas on September 21, 2024.
In a statement signed by Chairman Ilufoye Samson and released by Publicity Secretary Maruf Ayuba on Monday, the NYO expressed satisfaction with the electoral process.
“We applaud KWSIEC for conducting credible and peaceful elections, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities for all citizens,” the statement read. “Their collaboration with security agencies, observers, and stakeholders was effective, demonstrating commitment to transparency and accountability.”
The NYO also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for maintaining a level playing field.
“Governor AbdulRazaq has demonstrated his commitment to democratic governance by allowing free and fair elections without interference,” the statement noted. “He acted like a father to all, ensuring a neutral and conducive environment.”
The Organisation congratulated the winners and urged all parties to accept the election outcome in good faith.
“With this successful election, Kwara State has taken a significant step towards strengthening democracy,” the NYO concluded.
