The Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) has issued a call to action, urging stakeholders in Kwara State to prioritize peace and tranquility in the upcoming local government elections.

In a press statement signed by Chairman Ilufoye Samson and Public Relations Officer Ayuba Maruf Bako, NYO emphasized the crucial role peaceful elections play in fostering growth and development at the grassroots level.

“We appeal to all political parties, candidates, and citizens to adhere to democratic principles, respect the rule of law, and avoid violence or hate speech,” the statement read.

NYO advocated for four key principles to ensure peaceful and credible elections:

By embracing these principles, Kwara State can strengthen democracy and secure a brighter future for its citizens, aligning with the guidelines outlined in the Kwara State Local Government Electoral Law.

With peaceful elections, NYO believes Kwara State can achieve inclusive participation and credible election results.

The NYO’s call to action comes as Kwara State prepares for its local government elections, emphasizing the importance of collective effort and commitment to peaceful electoral processes.
