In a press release dated September 29, 2024, the Nigeria Youth Organization (NYO) appealed to the people of Kwara to stand together in support of the democratically elected government, emphasizing the importance of unity and peace in these challenging times.
The organization expressed concerns about recent calls for protests and unrest, which could undermine the progress made and destabilize the state. Citing the violent turn of events in Kano and other states during the August 1st protest, NYO warned that such unrest can endanger lives, damage property, and discourage investment, ultimately hindering economic development.

Fellow Kwarans,
We come to you today with a message of unity and peace. As we navigate these challenging times, it’s crucial we stand together in support of our democratically elected government.
Recent calls for protest and unrest threaten the stability and progress we’ve made. We urge you to reject these divisive efforts and instead choose the path of constructive engagement. We can not afford to have a repeat of what happened in Kano and some states during the August 1st protest.
Protests are legal but can quickly turn violent, endangering lives and property. We all know unrest discourages investment and can hinder economic development. Governments are elected through a fair process, let’s work within established channels to ensure we do not truncate this democracy.
For us at NYO, we are advicating for dialogue and engagement. As citizens, let’s address grievances through peaceful, constructive discussions. Let us keep supporting government Initiatives. We urge Kwara and Nigeria youths to reject violence and division. Let us embrace peace and constructive dialogue. Let’s us collectively maintain the atmosphere of peace we have been enjoying in Kwara. Together, we’ll build a stronger, more prosperous kwara and Nigeria.
God bless Kwara state.
God bless our Governor.
God bless Nigeria.
Signed
Com Ilufoye Samson
State Chairman.
