Leaders and residents of Offa Local Government Area have distanced themselves from remarks made by Chief Tajudeen Lanre Shittu, Chairman of the Home branch of Offa Descendants Union (ODU), regarding the Kwara State High Court’s judgment on the infamous Offa robbery case.
The community condemned Shittu’s statements, alleging personal political gain and manipulation. They praised the police and judiciary’s efforts to deliver justice, emphasizing that the recent sentencing of convicted suspects brought closure to affected families.
The Offa Koya – Offa Kowosi Group called for Shittu’s resignation, accusing him of exploiting the community for political interests. They urged politicians to focus on pressing state issues rather than diverting attention to historical grievances.
