The South West Progressive Movement (SWPM) has commended Minister of State for Youth Development, Engr. Ayodele Olawande, for his outstanding performance as Minister of State for Youth Development. In a statement signed by SWPM President, Mr. Debo Adebanjo, the group acknowledged Olawande’s unwavering passion for Nigeria’s progress, inspiring hope and confidence among youths.
The group emphasized that Olawande is changing the story of Nigerian youth development through some notable achievements such as One Youth, Two Skills program, enhancing employability among 500,000 youths nationwide, securing N10 billion in funding for youth development initiatives through private sector partnerships, advocating for policies promoting youth inclusion and participation, resulting in 30% increase in youth representation in government, establishing 20 Youth Development Centers across Nigeria, providing training and resources for young entrepreneurs, collaborating with international organizations to create 100,000 job opportunities for Nigerian youths and nitiating the National Youth Mentorship Scheme, pairing 50,000 youths with industry experts.
The Nigeria Coalition of Female Youth Groups also praised Olawande’s remarkable achievements, citing his leadership as impressive and inspiring. According to group President, Aminah Zakari, Olawande’s continued service will strengthen his initiatives and provide hope for Nigeria’s youth.
Olawande’s exceptional leadership has been previously recognized, with him describing Nigerian youths as “formidable and the most brilliant in the world”. His efforts align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s youth-focused programs and policies, aiming to empower young people to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
