The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed concerns over the lack of preparedness of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) for the upcoming September 21st local government elections.
At a press conference, PDP Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Muhammed, stated that the party has lost confidence in KWSIEC due to its apparent unpreparedness. Despite releasing election timetables, the commission has yet to provide guidelines for the polls, which are just a month away.
Muhammed emphasized that the lack of guidelines has created uncertainty and raised concerns about the commission’s ability to conduct free and fair elections. The PDP is calling on KWSIEC to take immediate action to address these concerns and ensure a credible electoral process.
This development has sparked worries among political stakeholders and residents, who are eager to participate in the elections. The PDP’s criticism highlights the need for KWSIEC to demonstrate its readiness to conduct a smooth and transparent election.
