Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, President of the 8th Senate, has expressed his deep sadness and concern over the tragic accident that occurred at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, resulting in the loss of one life and injuries to others. In a statement issued on Saturday by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Senator Saraki called on the university management to conduct a thorough review of the campus traffic regulations to enhance safe driving practices and prevent such incidents in the future. He offered his condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
The statement reads, “It saddens my heart to hear about the fatal accident at the University of Ilorin, on Thursday.
“I sympathize with the family of the student who died in the accident and pray God to grant them fortitude to bear the loss. I also wish the injured speedy recovery.
“It is my hope that the institution will again look into traffic regulations within the campus, enforce it further and explore other means to make transportation safer.”
