Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima convened an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa today to tackle the ongoing petrol supply challenges in the country. The meeting, called at the behest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, brought together key stakeholders in the petroleum sector.
In attendance were National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited Mele Kyari, and Executive Director of Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority Ogbugo Kalu Ukoha.
The meeting aimed to address the current fuel scarcity and find lasting solutions to the challenges facing the petroleum sector. Vice President Shettima assured Nigerians that the government is working tirelessly to resolve the issues and promised that the suffering will be over sooner than later.
