Kwara South Youth Congress (KSYC) has issued a stern warning to Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Bola Tinubu, over alleged land encroachment in Offa. The group accused Yusuf, who is also the paramount ruler of Ilemona town, of grabbing lands belonging to the people of Offa.
The KSYC demanded that the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) investigate the allegations and take immediate action to protect the lands of their ancestors. They claimed that Yusuf’s actions posed a threat to the heritage and livelihood of the Offa people, and could potentially spark community war.
According to the group, several hectares of land had been taken over by Yusuf, leaving many families without access to their ancestral lands. They alleged that the lands were resold to Yusuf by land grabbers without proper verification, raising serious concerns among the Offa community.
The KSYC warned that if the ODU failed to take action, they would mobilize the entire Offa community to resist Yusuf’s land-grabbing activities and take their protest to the state government. They emphasized that they would not sit idly by while their lands were being taken away from them.
The group also reminded Yusuf of the long-standing relationship between Offa and Ilemona, and the fact that his mother hails from Offa, making him a relative of the Offa people. The alleged land-grabbing activities have sparked widespread outrage in Offa, with many residents calling for the ODU to take action.
