According to Abdulqadir Abdulganiyu, Press Officer to the 8th Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Primary Election in Ilorin West Local Government has set a new standard for transparency, credibility, and accountability in the state’s political history. Abdulganiyu made this assertion while addressing journalists at the primary election venue, praising the conduct of the election.
Abdulqadir commended the electoral officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin West Local Government for their exemplary conduct of the primary election. He praised the open and inclusive process, which allowed all party members from the 12 wards in the local government area, as well as statutory officers, to participate and have a voice in the election.
The Saraki’s aide expressed optimism that the PDP will return stronger than ever, promising party members, stakeholders, and loyalists that the party’s people-oriented policies will positively impact Kwarans’ lives. He praised the primary election process as a demonstration of the party’s readiness to take power in 2027. Abdulqadir encouraged aspirants to view the primary as an opportunity to strengthen the party, emphasizing unity and cooperation.
Meanwhile, Abdulqadir criticized Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration for its failures in economy, security, health, and education, stating that the PDP remains the voice of the masses and would always focus on their wellbeing. He urged Kwarans to vote PDP all through in the up coming local government elections.
The primary election resulted in Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo emerging as the winner and Ilorin West Local Government PDP flag bearer. Eight aspirants had initially contested, with four withdrawing, leaving four to compete in the primary.
