The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Alumni Association hosted a prestigious luncheon and award ceremony to honor the best graduating students of the 2023/2024 academic session. The event took place at the UNILORIN Multi-Purpose Hall.
In his welcome address, Professor AbdulRazaq Olubusuyi Kilani, President of the UNILORIN Alumni Association, emphasized the importance of recognizing outstanding achievements. “Today, we gather to celebrate every graduate of BetterByFar and specifically honor the outstanding achievements of the best graduating students in each faculty. Their hard work deserves recognition, and we believe this will inspire them to excel beyond graduation. The UNILORIN Alumni Association will continue to support them.”
Vice Chancellor Professor Wahab Egbewole expressed delight at the Alumni Association’s organization and impressive program. He congratulated the executive committee on a job well done and encouraged them to continue working harmoniously for the association’s progress. The VC also thanked invited guests, particularly vice-chancellors from other universities.
Akinsanya Ayodeji Quadri, the overall best graduating student with a First Degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Physical Sciences and an impressive CGPA of 4.97/5, spoke on behalf of the award recipients. He thanked the Alumni Association for recognizing their achievements, stating, “UNILORIN is truly BetterByFar, even in its Alumni Association.” Quadri assured that he and fellow scholars would continue to uphold the university’s excellence and never disappoint.
The luncheon and award ceremony also featured the presentation of excellence awards to distinguished alumni, including:

– Professor Shykh Lukman Jimoh, Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete
– Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, Immediate Past Vice-Chancellor of University of Abuja.
