The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has approved the commencement of activities for the university’s 50th anniversary celebration, slated for November 23-28, 2025.
The Golden Jubilee planning committee, chaired by Prof. Olugbenga Mokuolu, presented the planned activities to the Principal Officers on July 19, 2024. The celebration marks a significant milestone since the university’s establishment in August 1975.
The university has evolved from a modest institution to one of Nigeria’s finest, renowned for academic excellence, innovative research, and community service. The Golden Jubilee will reflect on the university’s rich history, achievements, and contributions to education and society.
The celebration will also pay tribute to the founding fathers and successive administrations for their contributions to the university’s advancement. Notable alumni, including governors, vice-chancellors, industry captains, and leaders, will be recognized for their contributions to Nigeria, Africa, and the world.
The university community and the public are invited to join in the anticipation and preparation for this momentous occasion, marking 50 years of academic excellence.
