The Super Eagles of Nigeria today, defeated bitter rivals Cameroon 3-2 in crucial tie to seal qualification to the quarterfinal of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Odion Ighalo netted the opener in the 19th minute, after a deflected shot by a Cameroonian defender.
Following a lack of concentration by the Eagles defense, the Indomitable Lions equalized and quickly added a second goal to earn them a two-goal lead at the end of the first half; courtesy of goals from Stephane Bahoken and Clinton N’Jie.
The Nigerians replied in a similar fashion in the second half with two quick, stunning goals from Ighalo and Iwobi to earn themselves a deserved 3-2 victory.
Nigeria will now take on the winner of the encounter between Egypt and South Africa in today’s second Round of 16 match
