President Bola Tinubu has been unanimously re-elected to serve a second term as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), solidifying his leadership role in the regional organization.
The President’s re-election was confirmed during the 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of States and Government, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria, solidifying his continued leadership of the regional organization.
The president, in his acceptance speech, reaffirmed his commitment to collaborative leadership, vowing to continue working in harmony with fellow regional leaders to achieve shared objectives and advance the prosperity of ECOWAS.
“I am honoured to accept the re-election as ECOWAS Chairman, and I pledge to continue working alongside the dedicated individuals on this democratic journey. Together, we will strive to serve our collective interests, foster democratic values, and build upon the foundation we have inherited to create a brighter future for our region.”
