ABS Foundation to distribute Iftar meals across Kwara, other northern states

As the 30-day Ramadan fast continues, the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is set to distribute Iftar meals to mosques across Nigeria. This initiative will cover all local government areas (LGAs) in Kwara State, along with selected mosques in the states of Sokoto, Niger, and Kogi, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Director of Programmes, North Central, ABS Foundation, Musa Aliyu, made the disclosure on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in a press release made available to newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

Aliyu noted that the development is part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and is in line with the religious tradition during Ramadan.

“The meal distribution across all LGAs in Kwara State as well as in several other states aims to cushion the effect of the economic hardship in the country,” Aliyu stated.

“We all understand the hunger in the land and the hardship being faced in breaking the Ramadan fast with good and affordable meals. This informed the ABS Foundation’s resolve to intervene,” the statement read.

The Iftar meal distribution for the Muslim faithful is to continue daily till the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to grant us the grace, strength, and courage to complete the exercise and to accept our prayers as acts of Ibadah”, he submitted.
