AFCON 2019: I’ll watch Super Eagles’ matches, Buhari declares

By Kennedy Pwaspo.

President Muhammadu Buhari has challenged the Super Eagles to do the country proud in the African Cup of Nations holding in Egypt, as they confront Burundi in the opening fixture of Group B today.

In a statement issued in Abuja, today, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president charged the players to play for honor, as he would be watching the game, alongside other Nigerians.

“I will be watching, just as millions of Nigerians would also do.

“You have our solid support, and we will cheer you to victory.

“Nigerians are known for their unconquerable spirit. Show this in the group stages, and even beyond. Nothing but lifting of the diadem is good enough for our country,” the president said.
