The All Progressives Congress (APC) has yet again postponed the date for the Bayelsa State governorship primary.
The APC, which had earlier adopted the Direct mode of primary in compliance with the request of stakeholders in the Bayelsa State chapter of the party, had also scheduled the primary for Thursday, August 29, before postponing the date to Saturday, August 31, 2019.
However, in another statement issued on Friday night by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC announced a new date for the primary.
The statement read: “In deference to a court order, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted the date for the Bayelsa governorship primary to Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4, September, 2019.”
Six governorship aspirants will be participating in the forthcoming primary.
They include: Mr. Aganaba Preye Steven, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Prince Ebitimi Christopher Amgbare, Ms. Diseye Nsirim Poweigha, Mr. Lyon David Pereworimini, and Engr. Prof (Mrs.) Ongoebi Maureen Etebu.
