Hon Ahmed Idris Wase, representing Wase Federal Constituency, Plateau State, has been elected unopposed as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Wase was nominated for the position by Hon Sade Sole from Kastina State, and seconded by Hon Onifioke Luke, a member-elect from Akwa-Ibom State.
The Clerk had requested for other nominations, but members-elect yelled ‘no’ in response. Wase was declared winner afterwards, unopposed.
Recall that Idris Wase ran a joint ticket with Gbajabiamila, after stepping down his Speakership ambition for the Lagos lawmaker.
