Be patient with Buhari, IBB appeals to Nigerians

Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari, as he envisages a permanent solution to the heightened security challenges ravaging parts of the country.

The former Nigerian leader vouched for President Buhari’s ability to address the challenges, while appealing to Nigerians to be patient a little longer with the president.

In a chat with pressmen at his hilltop mansion in Minna yesterday, the former leader hinted that the president is committed to his resolve to end insurgency in the North East, as well as other lingering threats to peace in his second term in office.

The ex-President urged Nigerians to trust President Muhammadu Buhari despite the resurgence of insecurity in the country which he said was a momentory setback that is currently being tackled.

Reiterating his belief in the ability of the president to reposition the country on the path of development, he enjoined Nigerians to support President Buhari’s programs for the nation by shunning divisive utterances; adding that peace and unity are paramount and must be sustained for an upward drive in development.
