President Muhammadu Buhari has instructed the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to blacklist the owners and top management of any firm indicted in smuggling restricted items into Nigeria.
The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, made the disclosure today in Abuja, during a meeting with oil palm producers in the country’s capital.
Mr Emefiele further stated that the president has directed the apex bank to provide support to firms and individuals seeking to expand the production of the following commodities in the country: rice, maize, cassava, tomatoes, cotton, oil palm, poultry, fish, livestock dairy and cocoa.
