The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenat, who were recently granted medical leave to India by the Kaduna State High Court, are set to acquire new travel passports having commenced the process shortly after the court’s ruling.

According to reports, El-Zakzaky’s passport as well as that of his wife, were charred during a violent clash between members of the IMN and security operatives in Zaria in 2015.

Sources within the Islamic sect revealed that El-Zakzaky and his wife will be flying out to India for treatment once their travel documents are ready.

Recall that Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court, on August 5, ruled that El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat can proceed on medical trip overseas on condition of supervision by the DSS.
