Mr Isiaq Abdulwaheed Atanda, who’s renowned as the first lecturer hip-hop artiste in Africa, has finetuned plans to sponsor five individuals for the Digprom Digital Marketing Training, set to commence on Monday, August 19, 2019.

Atanda, who lectures in the Department of Political Science, University of Ilorin, made the disclosure on Wednesday, during a chat with INSIDER reporters.

According to him, the proposed sponsorship was predicated upon the increasing technological demands of the present generation and the need to discover and assist intellectuals in the rural areas.

The lecturer, who’s fondly referred to as Theorist Ologo, also noted that the five beneficiaries of the sponsorship scheme, will have their tuition fees covered for the duration of the study as well as provision of Digital job recommendation upon completion of the program.

He added that the event afforded him the opportunity to take a major step forward in the advancement of technology in Kwara State and the country at large “especially at this time when technology has not only turned the world into a global village but has become the major income earner for many nations.”

Atanda pledged to continue supporting the government in areas of youth empowerment, stressing that this will be the first of many sponsorship schemes to be carried out by him. He enjoined other Nigerians to tow the same path as himself in empowering the youths.

“It is time for Nigerians to stop thinking of what the government can do for you, rather start thinking of what you can do for the government. It is time to start empowering our leaders of tomorrow to ensure that they don’t end up as leaders of next tomorrow”, he said.
