Gov. Abdulrazaq nominates 26-yr-old serving corps member as Commissioner

The Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has nominated a 26-year-old serving corps member, Ms. Joana Nnazua Kolo as Commissioner. If confirmed, Kolo would be the youngest Commissioner in Nigeria.

Unveiling his long awaited list on Tuesday, Gov. Abdulrazaq named Ms. Kolo who hails from Edu local government area of the State and who is currently on national service in Jigawa State as Commissioner designate.

She is a 2018 graduate of Library Science from the Kwara State University (KWASU), a grassroots mobiliser and an ardent advocate of community development.

Also nominated alongside Kolo was the wife of the Director General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mrs. Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu; Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, a serial entrepreneur and major player in Nigeria’s hospitality industry and ‘a scion of Kwara’s oldest political family’, Aisha Ahman-Pategi.

Mrs. Folashade Omoniyi, a former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the FBN Mortgages Limited, a subsidiary of the First Bank, was also nominated as the new Chairperson of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS).

Omoniyi, who hails from Irepodun local government area of the state is billed to succeed Prof. Murtala Awodun whose tenure expires soon.
